The future’s bright…the future’s orange
The Netherlands have been the outstanding team so far and they are worthy favourites against Russia in their Quarter-Final tomorrow. They tore France and Italy to shreds playing a brand of football that we haven’t seen from them for a long, long time.
It was just great to sit and watch those matches. The pace of the play, the standard of the play and the goals… we had everything in those two matches that you’d want from a football game.
Ruud van Nistelrooy has been absolutely fantastic for them up front. He’s been right at the hub and has linked everything together. We haven’t seen him in action for a while since he left Manchester United for Real Madrid, but he’s proved he’s still a fantastic player. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him find the net again tomorrow night.
